Creation of International Health Awareness Network - 1985
In 1985, Dr. Roshan received an invitation to attend the third UN Women conference in Nairobi.
Kenya Vaccination 1987–89
IHAN collaborations in South Africa started in 1998. Over the years we have learned that the practical solution is to think globally and act locally and since, we have focused our efforts on finding partners to join forces with to find solutions and means of implementing them.
Somaliland
Back in 2003, an invitation from Miss Amina, an influential figure in the NGO sector hailing from Somaliland, spurred IHAN team to embark on a mission to Somaliland.
Hiroshima 2006
In September 2006, the Hiroshima Peace Conference “Building a Just and Sustainable Peace” was sponsored by IHAN and Lehman College, CUNY.
Tanzania 2008/2009
During multiple field projects visits we held seminars on healthy lifestyle, reproductive health issues and safe motherhood as well as importance of education for girl-child.
Genital Mutilation & Sudan
The International Health Awareness Network’s interest in Sudan revolves around maternal health and the eradication of hazardous traditional practices on girls and women, such as Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

Dominican Republic
IHAN’s collaborations in Dominican Republic started in early 2000’s when Maria Castro, then a young student of journalism at Fordham, supported our efforts to prepare and present at the Hiroshima Peace Conference “Building a Just and Sustainable Peace”.
