Dominican Republic

IHAN’s collaborations in Dominican Republic started in early 2000’s when Maria Castro, then a young student of journalism at Fordham, supported our efforts to prepare and present at the Hiroshima Peace Conference “Building a Just and Sustainable Peace”. After many years of supporting IHAN, Maria relocated to DR and together with her husband founded the Mensen Academy; an NGO dedicated to providing high quality education to communities on the North Coast of Dominican Republic, especially in the towns of Gaspar Hernandez and Rio San Juan. Over the years, IHAN has actively supported the Mensen Academy.
